Eye cancer misdiagnosed as migraine left giant hole in man’s face

Cancer is known to be a dreadful health condition which can turn out to be fatal. But sometimes negligence may come in the way of adequate diagnosis leading to shocking damage.

Doctors dismissing eye cancer as a migraine cost Danny Hunt dearly as it left him with a giant hole in his face. The 58-year-old had to have his eye removed along with the bone in his nose and jaw a year after doctors turned him away.

Hunt had a tumour with spider legs which indicates a severe form of eye cancer. Now he is too embarrassed to even leave the house and is too weak to undergo facial-reconstruction surgery.

A flap has been created using skin from his back and artery from the neck to cover the large hole on his face.
