Liverpool Transfer Rumour: Reds favourites to sign highly-rated Napoli midfielder

Liverpool has emerged as surprised joint favourites to sign Napoli midfielder Jorginho this coming summer if reports from the British media are to be believed. The Reds are will be competing with Italian giants Juventus for the signature of the Brazil-born man, according to report from the Daily Mail.

The report also suggests that the Napoli man’s performances has indeed caught the eye of many big clubs this season and both Manchester club – United and City and keeping close tabs on the situation as well.

Liverpool already have a deal in place to bring Naby Keita from RB Leipzing this summer. However, it is believed that their manager – Jurgen Klopp will look for further reinforcement as he looks to make the Reds serious title contenders next season.

The Italian international has been an integral part of Napoli’s campaign this season which sees them currently sitting four points clear at the top – having played one game more than defending champions Juventus. The Azzurris are currently looking the favourites to dislodge Juventus from the top of Serie A for the first time in seven seasons.

And Jorginho is a big reason why the side from Naples find themselves in this position. A stronghold in the middle of the part, the 26-year-old has also come up with two goals and four assists to make the season a stuff of dream for Maurizio Sarri’s team.

The Reds are bound to be attracted to names with the summer coming ever so near. And with cool monesy stashed from Philippe Coutinho’s sale, there is bound to big names being thrown their way by the people in the rumour mills.

However, before all this, Liverpool need to secure their place in next season’s Champions League. They will look to take a formidable step towards the same when they take on Newcastle on Saturday evening.
