Holiday announced for schools in Oman

Muscat: The Ministry of Education has announced a public holiday on Sunday for all government schools.

The Ministry said in a circular issued on Wednesday morning: "As part of the Sultanate's preparations for the elections of the members of the Shura Council and due to the Ministry's keenness on the smooth conduct of the elections, it is decided to suspend the attendance of students in all public schools on Sunday, October 27."

"The members of the teaching staff and related posts who voted shall be considered to be on official leave," the statement added
