Over 800 Pakistani nationals repatriated in a week

More than 800 Pakistani nationals living in the Sultanate have been repatriated in one week, confirmed the Ambassador of Pakistan to Oman.Last week, KK Ahsan Wagan, Ambassador of Pakistan to Oman, informed about the special flights that were arranged through the Pakistan International Airline (PIA) and Oman Air to repatriate those who wish to return.

According to Wagan, two flights took off from Muscat for Lahore on May 21, carrying 280 Pakistani nationals and one flight by Oman Air with 265 passengers on May 22. Two days later, on May 24, two flights departed from Muscat to Multan carrying 282 passengers.

“Two PIA flights on May 21 and one flight on May 22 by Oman Air to Lahore while two flights to Multan on May 24 carried 827 stranded Pakistani passengers – 545 were for Lahore and 282 for Multan. All flights were seen off by me. On behalf of my leadership, I conveyed Eid greetings and assured them my full support. I would also like to extend my deep appreciation to the government of Oman for their everlasting support as well as to my team and PIA for tireless efforts to repatriate our nationals to celebrate Eid festivities with their loved ones in Pakistan,” Wagan said.

In addition to that, there is one special flight to Faisalabad scheduled on May 29, carrying around 140 Pakistani nationals from Oman, and two flights to Islamabad on May 31, carrying 280 passengers.
