Bahrain Summons Iraqi Envoy Over Continued Drone Attacks
Bahrain summoned an Iraqi envoy on Monday regarding recent drone attacks. These dangerous weapons constantly target the kingdom and other regional states.
Pro-Iranian groups continue these strikes despite a recent US-Iran ceasefire.
Delivering the Official Protest
Saudi Arabia took similar diplomatic action just one day prior. This move signals growing regional alarm over Iraq-based militant activities.
These ongoing conflicts severely complicate Baghdad's relationships with Arab neighbors. The Bahrain Foreign Ministry strongly condemned the malicious drone strikes.
Militants launch these weapons from Iraq toward several Gulf countries. Abdullah bin Ali Al Khalifa delivered the official protest note.
He handed the document to Iraqi diplomat Ahmed Ismail al-Karawi. The note demands Baghdad address these security threats very urgently.
Iraq as a Militant Launchpad
Militants currently use Iraq as a launchpad for secondary conflicts. Iran-aligned armed groups repeatedly target Gulf states and Jordan.
They also attack American interests, including the US embassy in Baghdad. Last month, several Gulf nations and Jordan issued a joint demand.
They urged Baghdad to stop these attacks immediately.
Baghdad Responds to Allegations
Baghdad completely rejects the use of its territory for attacks. Iraqi officials promise to take necessary legal and constitutional measures.
The government offered its full readiness to review any evidence. Leaders want to address these serious security concerns swiftly.
Broken Ceasefire Promises
Iran-aligned groups in Iraq previously promised a two-week ceasefire. They claimed they would suspend all military actions against neighbors.
However, militants launched fresh drone attacks just hours later. Several Gulf nations reported new strikes on their territories recently.
