GAFT Riyadh workshop

Saudi Foreign Trade Authority Hosts Global Goods Classification Workshop

The General Authority for Foreign Trade (GAFT) hosted a specialized workshop in Riyadh this week. The event took place at the authority's headquarters on Tuesday and Wednesday.

Training the Technical Teams

More than 40 representatives from 15 different government entities attended the two-day event. Members from the General Secretariat of the Gulf Cooperation Council also joined the sessions.

The workshop specifically introduces the International Harmonized System for coding and classifying global goods. This knowledge helps the Saudi technical negotiating team handle goods and rules of origin effectively.

The program also supports specialists working with complex trade processing systems.

Improving International Trade Awareness

Experts explained the system's structure and numbering during the training sessions. They also detailed the general interpretive rules for classifying various international products.

GAFT aims to raise awareness about international trade systems through these educational efforts. This initiative strengthens the Kingdom's position in global trade negotiations.

The authority continues to provide essential training to improve national trade expertise.
