Trump Confirms Major Progress on US-Iran Peace Agreement
US President Donald Trump confirmed major progress on an Iran peace agreement today. Diplomats successfully negotiated a large part of a new memorandum of understanding.
Trump posted an exciting update on his Truth Social platform.
Reopening Maritime Navigation
He stated the emerging agreement will reopen maritime navigation in the region. The recent war severely disrupted global energy markets since February.
Officials currently discuss the final aspects and details of the agreement. They will announce the final terms very soon.
Pakistan Mediates a Three-Phase Plan
Iranian officials also confirmed their work on this memorandum of understanding. Senior Iranian leaders met with Pakistani Army Chief Asim Munir recently.
Munir seeks to mediate a complete end to the war. A Pakistani source reported encouraging progress during the talks.
The proposed framework features three distinct implementation phases. First, the nations will formally end the war.
Second, leaders will resolve the regional maritime navigation crisis. Third, a 30-day period begins to negotiate a broader, extendable agreement.
Regional Leaders Urge Approval
Trump called leaders in Saudi Arabia, Qatar, the UAE, Jordan, Egypt, and Turkey. These regional leaders urged Trump to approve the emerging framework.
Trump also had a very good phone call with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
Iran Seeks an End to Attacks
Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Ismail Baghaei noted a decrease in dispute intensity. He said mediators still need to discuss several remaining issues.
He advised everyone to wait and see how things conclude shortly. Baghaei called the American shipping embargo a very important issue.
However, Tehran prioritizes ending the threat of new American attacks. They also want to stop the ongoing conflict across the entire region.
