Virat Kohli reveals what he learnt from AB de Villiers in South Africa

Mumbai: Royal Challengers Bangalore are currently languishing in 7th position on the points table after losing their third game of the tournament to Mumbai Indians by 71 runs on Tuesday.

Virat Kohli scored 92 runs of 62 runs but couldn’t prevent his team from losing the game. The skipper, who became the leading run-getter of Indian Premier League on Tuesday, was visibly upset by team’s performance.

The team India skipper and AB de Villiers are known to share a close bond with each other and everyone knows about Kohli’s admiration for the South African star.

Under the leadership of Kohli, team India made history by winning the bilateral series in South Africa. After losing the Test series 1-2, the Men in Blue came back to win the One-day International series 5-1 and then clinched the Twenty20 International series 2-1 against South Africa.

In an exclusive chat with NDTV Kohli spoke about how AB de Villiers helped him in the recently concluded series against South Africa, Kohli said, "I actually learnt something from him in the recent Test series that we played. I made that adjustment to my game, which I haven't told him about yet."

Team India will be touring England (from late June to September) where the team will play a five-Test series, three T20Is and a three-match ODI series. There have been news in Indian press about Kohli missing the one-off test match Afghanistan and playing  county cricket to prepare for the upcoming tour.

Speaking about his county stint he said, "People have their personal opinions and I respect that. But I have to do what is best for my preparation going forward."

Kohli on Tuesday to become IPL's leading run-getter of all time surpassing Suresh Raina. Team India skipper crossed the landmark in the ninth over.
