Samsung Galaxy S9 vs iPhone X: Bad News for Samsung Fans After Latest Leak Release

"The handset, which likely will come powered by Samsung's new Exynos 9 Series 9810 processor, scored 2680 on the single-core Geekbench 4 test and a 7787 on the multi-core test," explained Carly Page, editor of theinquirer.net.

"While impressive, this puts the device far behind the iPhone X, which scored a single-core score of 4197 and multi-core score of 10051."

Even more worryingly is the fact that according to BGR, if these test scores are in line with what customers can expect to see when the phone launches next year then Samsung's next big phone won't match up to the iPhone 8, or iPhone 8 Plus - let along the iPhone X.

BGR also notes that early benchmark leaks "are typically a good representation of what we end up seeing at launch."

The news follows on from reports earlier this week when new leaks courtesy of SlashLeaks suggests that the S9 could also have a curved screen - similar to the design of the Samsung Galaxy S8.

However, the same leaked images appeared to reveal that Samsung are adding a new dual-lens camera to the phone which would allow the device to add DSLR-style depth of field to images taken on the handset.

The new Galaxy Note 8 already includes a dual-lens snapper, which can even change the intensity of effects after the image taken, but if this was to be added to the S9, it would be the first time such a camera has appeared on the S series of phones.

So although the benchmark tests above don't make for great reading right now, at least it seems that Samsung are looking to keep pace with its main rivals in the camera department.
