47th National Day celebrations have already begun across the country
47th National Day celebrations have already begun across the country even though the actual day is still a week away.

“To mark the 47th National Day, colourful lights and national flags have already been installed from old Muscat to Sultan
Qaboos Grand Mosque. Lights will be lit from November 15 till the end of the month,” an official from the Supreme Committee for National Day Celebrations, which is in charge of the programmes and decorations, told Us.
Like every year, the official said, there will fireworks too. “There will be 30 minutes of fireworks in Muscat and Dhofar on November 18. In Muscat, fireworks will light up the city in Al Khoudh and Amerat. In Dhofar, there will be fireworks in Salalah.”
Fireworks will begin at 8pm.
There will also be a parade by the Special Task Force in Muscat on November 18. The rest of the country too is gearing up for the National Day celebrations, the preparations for which have begun in right earnest. People have decorated their houses with colourful lights, festoons and the national flag.

Vehicles too are being decorated with the photograph of His Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said and the number ‘47’ signifying the day. “This is the time we do good business every year. We are attending to almost ten vehicles every day. We have expertise in doing collage of the national flag stickers with His Majesty the Sultan’s photos on vehicles. We do every type of decorations relating to National Day celebrations,” said a vehicle decoration shop attendant.
