Fifth Omani Dates Festival Begins in Nizwa

The Fifth Omani Dates Festival started here in the in the Governorate of A'Dakhiliyah Wilayat of Nizwa,inaugurated with Sheikh Abdullah bin Ali Al Qatabi, the State Advisor being the patron and in the presence of the Minister of Agriculture and Fisheries.

With 60 outlets for sale for small and medium farmers and enterprise, the dates marketing identity design with 12 projects in a corner, workshops on the prospects of Omani dates marketing and manufacturing, the exhibition of machines supplying companies which does packing, packaging and steaming of dates and a corner for ''My Date Palm" drawing contest which display the artworks of  participants targeting the school students from certain governorates would be the key attractions of the festival as per the words of the Director General of Agriculture Development at the Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries.

Finally, the festival aims to introduce Omani dates and their types in the ideal environment  followed by backing producers and farmers to boost the quality of product and its packaging.
