14 fishermen rescued by Oman’s coast guard
According to an official statement released by Royal Oman Police : Patrols from the Coast Guard assisted seven fishing boats and rescued at least 14 citizens across multiple governorates in Oman.
"Coast guard police gave assistance to four boats with 10 citizens aboard in Wilayat Khasab and one boat with four citizens aboard in Wilayat Suwaiq. Two boats were also given assistance in Wilayat Quriyat and the Governorate of Muscat. All boats were subsequently towed to the nearest ports," the statement read.
ROP reiterated its call for boat owners to regularly conduct maintenance on their boats, take sufficient fuel and ensure safety and first-aid kits are available before going out to sea.
