24 people were arrested for breaking the law in Oman

According to Oman's Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries, 24 people were arrested for breaking the law of marine fishing.

"Fisheries control arrested 24 workers who were violating the law of fishing in the area between Mahoot and Masirah," the ministry announced online.
 

The ministry had recently announced that it would be clamping down on violators of the marine fisheries law, after it was revealed that the number of people caught fishing illegally in Oman rose by almost a quarter in 2016.
