According to MOH 740,000 people were measles vaccinated in three days

The National Measles Immunisation Campaign (NMIC) witnessed a vast turnout in the first three days, according to the Ministry of Health (MoH). As many as 740,645 people were vaccinated at the end of three days across the country as part of the second phase of NMIC.

Muscat governorate has witnessed the highest number of vaccinations (221,359) followed by North Batinah (170,609). The campaign which was launched on Sunday is for people in the age group of 20–35 years and will help in mitigating and eliminating the disease as well as promoting immunity among people for a measles-free society.

 

The ministry has called on citizens and residents in the target group to visit the nearest healthcare centre and get the vaccination free of cost on the scheduled dates. The ministry has also asked people to trust only reliable sources or MoH’s contact centre for any information regarding the disease and campaign. The campaign concludes on September 16.
