Investing In Public Health And Wellbeing

The Al Dhahirah Governorate continues its efforts to expand local green spaces. They are actively developing new public parks, gardens, and health walkways. Planners consider these essential elements for enhancing public health and quality of life. These projects align perfectly with the ambitious sustainability goals of Oman Vision 2040. The government is moving towards a more balanced and comfortable urban environment. Engineer Naseer bin Ali Al-Siyabi serves as Director General of Al-Dhahirah Municipality. He explained the governorate currently includes 21 facilities of parks and health walks. The total area of these recreational facilities exceeds 173,000 square meters.

Distributing Facilities Across The Wilayats

The governorate includes seven public parks distributed across Ibri, Yanqul, and Dhank. It also features seven health walkways with a total length of 9,800 meters. These walkways serve residential areas and provide a safe environment for daily jogging. The Wilayat of Ibri has the largest number of facilities overall. Yanqul State is distinguished by having the largest existing park in the governorate. The Yanqul Public Park covers an area of more than 52,000 square meters. The Wilayat of Dhank includes the beautiful Qarah Sata’a Natural Park. The governorate is currently witnessing the implementation of three massive new qualitative projects.
