Bootleg booze seized by Oman coastguard

Royal Oman Police seized more than 3,600 bottles of contraband booze from a boat in Khasab. "The Coast Guard patrol managed to seize a smuggling boat in Khasab governorate, carrying two Asian nationals. 3,600 bottles of alcohol were seized. The boat was towed to the pier of the Coast Guard police station in Musandam. The accused were referred to the Musandam Customs Department for further legal action," ROP reported.

The Coast Guard police in Dibba also assisted a citizen who crashed his boat near the Al-Mukans area while fishing. The boat was towed by police boat to the port of Dibba.

Earlier on Wednesday, three Arab nationals were arrested for attempting to smuggle khat off the coast of Dhofar.
