Breaking News : Women allowed to drive taxis in Oman soon

Women will be allowed to drive taxis in the Sultanate from March this year, Royal Oman Police (ROP) have announced.

This news comes from the press conference organised by the ROP, and after the implementation of 52 new violations to traffic system in Oman.

Salima al Kharusi, a driving instructor based in Al Khuwair, says that allowing women to drive can help bring in more funds to the household.

“I’ve always been keen on driving taxis and I will definitely be enrolling for a licence to drive a taxi here,” she says.
