Citizen held for making fraud calls, cheating

The Department of Inquiries and Criminal Investigations at Dhahirah Police Command has arrested a citizen on charges of defrauding another.

The accused on the pretext of helping the victim to get married, gave him his phone number and spoke to him pretending to be a woman.

He also got the victim to pay RO1,900 and sell his vehicle to give mehr for the marriage. The accused has pleaded guilty to the offence. He has been referred to the judiciary for questioning. He has been charged for fraud and violating the Telecommunications Law.
