Cop killed in Oman mall given medal of honour
Royal Oman Police officer Saud bin Saeed bin Saud al-Rawahi, who was stabbed to death at City Centre Muscat mall last December, has been conferred with a medal of honour.
A statement from ROP said, "Lieutenant General Hassan bin Mohsen Al-Shoraiqi, Inspector-General of Police and Customs rewarded Saud bin Saeed bin Saud Al-Rawahi with a Medal of Bravery award, who died in the line of duty. His father received the medal."
Officer Al-Rawahi had been stabbed by an Omani national who had attempted to murder an Indian citizen at the mall, who was seriously injured. Police had said at the time that the accused has a history of mental illness.
