Coronavirus: Technical Committee formed in Oman

 The Ministry of Technology and Communication (MoTC) has announced the formation of a Technical Innovation Committee.

A statement issued online by the MoTC said:"The Technical Innovation Committee has been formed in coordination with the Supreme Committee to deal with COVID-19 and the membership of Ministry of Health, Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (TRA), Sultanate Qaboos university (SQU), The Scientific Research Council, Madayn, Oman ICT Group and Oman Technology Fund. "

The Technological Innovation Committee will supervise:

1- All IT initiatives to ensure diversity

2- Form a team for emerging technologies.

3- Evaluate the quality of proposed ICT projects.

4- Strengthen partnership between sectors to implement new projects.

5- Provide innovative IT solutions for rapid diagnostic and epidemiological investigation, provide medicine and remote health care, provide health and medication supplies, promote quarantine through technologies and Enhance social solidarity.

6- A mechanism to improve competitive advantage of innovative national technologies and its continuation in local markets.

7- Ensure wider use of ITC solutions in the community.
