Cultural Club Launches Diverse Range Of New Omani Publications

Supporting Local Literary Voices

The Cultural Club celebrated a major literary milestone at its Al Qurm headquarters. They officially launched their new lineup of publications for the year 2026. The meeting celebrated Omani writers and their impressive literary and cultural production. The event highlighted their vital contributions to enriching the Omani library. His Excellency Mohammed bin Saeed Al Balushi sponsored the formal inauguration ceremony. He serves as the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Information. Dr. Mohammed bin Ali Al-Balushi delivered the welcoming speech at the ceremony. He chairs the Board of Directors of the prestigious Cultural Club.

The National Book Support Program

He affirmed that the club continues implementing the National Book Support Program. This vital initiative began in 2006 to support printing various intellectual works. A specialized committee reads and rigorously evaluates every submitted manuscript. They carefully select the works that truly deserve to be printed and published. The club received more than 60 manuscripts during the past year. From those submissions, the committee selected 19 books for the 2026 publication run. Some publications resulted directly from writing workshops organized by the club itself. Five novels emerged from the “A Complete Life” program led by Huda Hamad.

A Rich Variety Of Genres

The new publications range from literary and intellectual studies to children's literature. The launched books cover phonetics, modern Arabic dialects, poetry, and philosophy. Notable titles include "The Course of Things" and "The Strangers’ Cafe". These efforts ensure that Omani intellectual production remains available to all avid readers.
