Earthquake reported in Arabian sea

Muscat: An earthquake has been reported in Arabian sea on Monday, according to the Earthquake Monitoring Centre (EMC), at the Sultan Qaboos University.

A statement issued online by the EMC said: “An earthquake in Arabian sea with magnitude of 5.3, at 9:46 am MCT and at a depth of 10 km has been recorded. The earthquake was recorded 415 km away from Salalah.”

There is no risk of tsunami waves due to the earthquake which was occurring in Arabian Sea, Oman Meteorology said.

Oman Meteorology said: "No risk of tsunami waves due to the earthquake that occurred in the Arabian Sea."
