Fake news: Police deny social media warning message

Royal Oman Police (ROP) has said that a viral message with a screenshot of an ROP social media post, warning citizens and residents not to go out at night, was not issued by them.

The fake post read: "A warning to everyone from the Royal Oman Police not to go out with any unknown person or talk to them, especially at night, and do not even allow your men to go out because the criminals may be armed. All you have to do is contact the police and report about it."
