Hotels, Restaurants gear up for New year in Oman

From RO 10 to RO 60, New Year’s eve parties have something for everyone in Oman. Here’s our guide to the top parties in the city. 

Albeit, we’re welcoming 2018 on a Sunday, so there’s a slight chance that the numbers of people visiting these parties may drop – but the people all chime in to say that they’re down for a night of fun, frolic and dancing.

“There’s no way we’re missing out on the New Year’s Eve party,” says Mark D’Silva, an Indian expat in Oman. “It’s a tradition for us,” he adds.

Meanwhile, some employees are also taking a day off to spend time with their families to welcome 2018 together.

Sai Haridas, a fellow ‘Muscateer’ says that he has taken two weeks off work to celebrate Christmas and New Year.

“Muscat turns festive around this time of the year, and there are several parties that you can attend,” he tells us.

All of this translates to a busy night for hotels – and they can’t wait to welcome you all. On its Facebook page, InterContinental Muscat wrote: “It’s the biggest and most colourful New Year’s Eve Party in Muscat! With live Brazilian band, Samba dancers and drummers, and live Latino DJ!
