Jabal Akhdar to have a New Water Project

To provide potable water to Al Jabal al Akhdar, construction has started  on a water desalination project This popular holiday destination in Al Dakhiliyah Governorate would also spur tourism and economic development by this investment. To meet the drinking water requirements of the  Jabal al Akhdar residents, the implementation of this vital project, would go a long way as the Public Authority for Electricity and Water (Diam) is overseeing the same.

The work on this project started in August this year and is complete by 60 per cent.  Once the projects turns operational fully,  it will supply water to upto a distance of 38 kms.

The unique aspect about this particular project is that despite the challenges posed by the surrounding area topography,  it is being implemented. Finally, by the end of 2018, the project work will be completed.
