Khazzan Gas Field Phase One Officially Inaugurated
Oman's giant Khazzan gas field was officially inaugurated today as part of the first phase of development.
Almost four years after the development was approved, the phase one development started gas production in September 2017, ten years after the signing of BP's production sharing contract with Oman.
Out of recoverable gas resources in place in Khazzan, an estimated production would be of 10.5 trillion cubic feet.
Feeding into a two-train central processing facility, phase one of the Khazzan development will include a total of 200 wells. A workforce of around 13,500 are involved in the Phase One development involved at peak. Finally, at 1 billion cubic feet of gas per day (bcf/d)Phase One production is expected to plateau.
