MINISTRY OF MANPOWER BANS NEW VISAS FOR EXPATS IN SEVERAL PROFESSIONS

The Ministry of Manpower (MoM) has restricted the issuance of new visas for all authoritative and administrative positions in the private area in addition to several other job categories. Visas of specialists utilized under the predetermined classes won't be recharged on expiry. 

The decision (No 221/2019) was issued by H E Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Abdullah al Bakri, Minister of Manpower.

Article 1 of the choice expresses, "The choice forbids contracting of exile labor in the private part in following positions; right hand general director, organization administrator, HR supervisor, representative issues chief, preparing administrator, advertising supervisor, follow-up trough, collaborator chief, all regulatory and administrative occupations." 

Article 2 of the choice includes that the exiles utilized in the above-notice callings will proceed until the expiry of their visa/work grant, which will be not restored a while later. 

The choice depends on the Omani Labor Law declared by Royal Decree 35/2003 and Royal Decree 76/2004 which characterizes the abilities of the Ministry of Manpower and the selection of its hierarchical structure.
