Connecting Vital City Arteries

Muscat Municipality launched a monumental new road expansion project today. Engineers will dualize the vital link connecting Al-Nuzha Street and the Muscat Expressway. The massive construction project covers over eight kilometers of high-traffic roadway. Project manager Sami bin Salem Al Rahbi explained the exciting development plans. Workers will build four new traffic intersections equipped with smart light systems.

Installing Advanced Drainage Systems

The teams will also install a highly advanced rainwater drainage system. Heavy-duty box culverts will prevent dangerous surface water accumulation during winter storms. Modern LED streetlights will maximize nighttime visibility and reduce overall energy consumption. The project includes laying nearly four kilometers of additional single service roads. These new lanes will accommodate the rapidly growing population in Al-Maabilah.

Speeding Up Daily Commutes

The massive project will drastically improve local traffic flow and eliminate frustrating bottlenecks. Drivers will experience much faster and safer daily commutes across the capital. The municipality expects to completely finish the construction by mid-2028. Oman continuously invests in smart urban planning to support rapid economic growth.
