Muscat Municipality Launches Al-Nuzha Street Dual Carriageway Project
Muscat Municipality officially signed an important infrastructure construction contract today. They will implement the Al-Nuzha Street dualization project in Seeb Governorate.
This strategic project specifically targets the growing Al-Maabilah South area.
Enhancing the Road Network
Engineer Ahmed bin Saeed Al Amri chairs the Muscat Municipality. He signed the contract directly with the designated implementing company today.
The municipality will begin field implementation work during this coming June. Officials want to upgrade road infrastructure and improve daily traffic flow.
They also aim to raise safety levels for all road users.

Expanding Traffic Lanes and Intersections
The project includes building an 11-kilometer dual carriageway. Planners equipped the road with additional lanes to accommodate growing traffic.
Workers will also implement 3.5 kilometers of convenient local service roads. These service roads will enhance accessibility to surrounding areas and facilities.
The project features six major traffic intersections equipped with smart lights. These modern systems will regulate traffic flow and reduce waiting times.
Improving Rainwater Drainage
The municipality also designed an integrated rainwater drainage system. This system includes multi-cell box culverts and roadside drainage networks.
This smart design enhances road readiness during difficult weather conditions. It also raises the overall efficiency of surface water management.
Finally, workers will install a modern, energy-saving street lighting system.

Strategic Urban Planning
Engineer Badr bin Ali Al-Bahri directs Projects and Afforestation at Muscat Municipality. He called this a vital project for raising operational road efficiency.
Muscat Governorate currently experiences massive urban expansion and rapid population growth. Al-Bahri stated the project reflects a comprehensive ongoing traffic study.
