No contract renewal for expat teaching staff at Oman schools

The Ministry of Education has issued Circular No. 7 of 2020 stating that it will not renew the contract of its expatriate teaching staff.

A statement issued by the Ministry of Education said: “Please confirm that non-Omani employees will not be granted a certificate of contract renewal 2020/2021 period.”

“You will be notified later on the timing of the possibilities of granting this certificate in the future.” the Ministry added.

A senior official at the Ministry of Education said to Times of Oman : "This circular is applicable to government schools only."
