Non-Omani students in govt schools to pay fees
The Ministry of Education (MoE) on Sunday said that all non-Omani students enrolling in government schools have to pay registration and yearly fees effective from February 7.
According to the decision, non-Omani students will pay RO50 during registration in addition to RO100 annually as school fees.
The decision has been made on the basis of Ministerial Decision (No 34/2018) based on the Financial Law issued by Royal Decree 47/98, and Royal Decree 37/2008 which sets the terms of reference to MoE. This is further based on the adoption of organisational structure and the Ministerial Decision (298/2016), which sets the fees for MoE services, after receiving approval from the Ministry of Finance.
