O-Green Closes Financing for Massive Sohar Solar Project

O-Green celebrated a major financial milestone today. The company closed financing for the largest solar energy project in Oman.

His Excellency Mohsen bin Hamad Al Hadhrami sponsored the exciting event. He serves as the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Energy and Minerals.

Powering the Sohar Industrial City

The company actively builds a 93-megawatt solar power plant right now. The massive facility sits inside the Sohar Industrial City.

O-Green partnered strategically with the Public Establishment for Industrial Estates, Madayn. This project will provide clean energy to over 200 industrial facilities.

Engineers expect commercial project operations to begin in September 2026.

Massive Scale and Fast Progress

The total project area covers approximately 1.45 million square meters. The current construction completion rate already exceeds 60 percent.

Workers must install about 150,000 solar panels during various implementation stages. The financial closure with the National Islamic Bank represents a huge milestone.

This deal highlights the vital role of sustainable Islamic finance today. This funding strongly supports renewable energy projects and clean infrastructure in Oman.

Direct Supply for Industrial Sustainability

The Sohar project represents a historic first for the Sultanate of Oman. It directly supplies industrial areas with clean solar energy.

This direct supply model significantly promotes the transition towards green energy. It strongly supports industrial sustainability and reduces harmful carbon emissions.

Expanding Renewable Partnerships

The Arab Open University also signed an exciting new agreement with O-Green today. The university wants to build a dedicated solar power plant on campus.

University President Professor Dr Mohammed bin Hamdan Al-Badi signed the official document. O-Green CEO Mustafa bin Mohammed Al-Hinai signed for the energy company.

O-Green operates as an integrated platform for developing renewable energy projects. Their massive portfolio includes over 3.3 gigawatts of power generation projects.

They also boast over 2.3 gigawatt-hours of battery energy storage capacity. The company explores many exciting international projects across Asia, Europe, and Africa.
