Oman Establishes Gulf Network for High-Precision Gravity Measurements
Oman officially launched a program to establish a Gulf gravity measurement network. The National Centre for Measurement and Calibration leads this vital scientific initiative.
Experts will use the high-precision FG5-X device for these tasks.
Raising Laboratory Accuracy
This three-day program creates an accurate regional network for measuring Earth's gravity. Scientists will link this data directly to the International System of Units.
The program features specialized workshops and helpful technical lectures. Experts explain how gravity values impact general measurements and calibration.
They also analyze complex Earth gravity measurement results together.
Supporting Regional Science
Ahlam Bint Masoud Al Marhoubi heads the National Metrology Laboratory. She says this network strengthens the national infrastructure for reference measurements.
It reduces uncertainty in physical quantities like weight and pressure. Center Director Faiza bint Mohammed Al-Mushrifiyah praised the initiative.
She called the network a qualitative leap for national laboratory capabilities. This project unifies standard references across all Gulf countries.
