Oman Social Protection Fund Supports Families of Missing Persons
The Social Protection Fund recently clarified important family support procedures. Officials explained the rules for handling missing insured individuals.
The system guarantees continuous financial support for affected families.
Monthly Allowances for Families
Article 63 of the Social Protection Law outlines these benefits. The Fund pays a monthly allowance to eligible family members.
This payment equals the standard death pension value. Families receive this money after they legally establish the disappearance.
This vital financial support ensures immediate living stability.
How to Prove a Disappearance
Families must notify the local police station first. Officers will draft an official report detailing the disappearance.
The police then issue an official legal certificate. Families use this certificate to submit their allowance application.
Fund officials examine the application and disburse the money quickly. Employers must also report any missing workers immediately.
Long-Term Support and Rules
The allowance continues for four years after the disappearance. The Fund converts this allowance into a permanent pension later.
They also convert it immediately if authorities confirm a death. However, the Fund will suspend payments if the person returns.
The person must refund all money if they faked the disappearance. These strict procedures effectively safeguard the rights of vulnerable families.
