Omanis Prioritizes Jobs at Present

The 464 young Omanis from the company-sponsored training schemes graduated from the Petroleum Development Oman (PDO) to take up full-time employment on Thursday. The Chairman of the State Council chaired the event was held to honour their success.

The qualification for a variety of trades like steel-fixing, storekeeping, metal sheet fabrication and vehicle maintenance and repair, mechanics, pipe-fitting and scaffolding  are held by the job-seekers. Including 17 women, who will work in vehicle sales and social media out of the 75 welders  who comprises the batch have been trained up to the 6G level which is the highest international standard.

 

Since its launch in 2011, over 40,000 jobs, training and redeployment opportunities for Omanis was created by the PDO’s National Objectives Programme as this is the eighth batch of trainees to graduate from.

The Public Authority of Manpower Registry, the Ministry of Manpower and  the National Training Fund has held a consultation with the company with the aims to generate 50,000 such opportunities between 2017 and 2019.

To diversify the Sultanate’s economy beyond its natural boundaries, including aviation, real estate, fashion and hospitality as part of the efforts, the PDO has been working with partners.

Finally, the Best Trainee Award trophies and certificates  were  awarded to 24 candidates.
