Oman’s consumer watchdog recovers over OMR 60,000

 Officials from the Public Authority for Consumer Protection (PACP) in the Wilayat of Seeb helped recover OMR 61,300 in one month,   authorities announced.

The amount was recovered by the Complaints Department after officials resolved several grievances in the month of July, 2019. 

According to authorities, the highest amount recovered was OMR 35,575 from the labour services sector, followed by OMR 10,799 from the infrastructure shops. While OMR 6,269 was recovered from contracting and building materials sector. The rest was recovered from various other sectors.

Ziad Al Wahaibi, Director of the Department said: "The Department is working hard to preserve the rights of consumers through various legal means available. PACP stresses on the importance of the role of the consumer and their cooperation in submitting reports against violators."
