The Ministry of Education organized the workshop through the Omani National Commission for Education. They partnered with the Arab League Educational, Cultural and Scientific Organization and the university. The event explores using blockchain to verify academic certificates and protect them from sophisticated forgery. His Excellency Engineer Omar bin Hamdan Al Ismaili sponsored the opening of the session. He serves as the Chief Executive Officer of the Telecommunications Regulatory Authority.

Participants reviewed the unified Arab system project for verifying the credibility of academic certificates. They explored ways for the Sultanate of Oman to join this secure digital network. The workshop also focuses on building the technical capabilities of university work teams. Professor Dr. Mohammed bin Hamdan Al-Badi delivered a speech during the opening ceremony. He pointed out the immense importance of blockchain technology in supporting digital transformation. He stressed the need to transform theoretical knowledge into impactful applications and projects.

Developing A Reliable Verification System

Dr. Mahmoud bin Abdullah Al-Abri affirmed this initiative extends Oman’s efforts in digital transformation. Building a reliable system requires the seamless integration of educational institutions and regulatory bodies. Professor Dr. Mohamed Al-Jamni presented a keynote paper addressing ALECSO’s initiatives regarding artificial intelligence. The workshop activities include sessions discussing educational data governance, cybersecurity, and digital transformation projects.
