Sayyid Fahd performs Eid prayer at Al Khour Mosque in Muscat

The Sultanate on Friday celebrated the first day of Eid Al Adha.

Sayyid Fahd bin Mahmoud Al Said, Deputy Prime Minister for the Council of Ministers, performed Eid Al Adha prayer at Al Khour Mosque in Muscat.

Sayyid Fahd was accompanied during the Eid prayers by their highnesses, their excellencies, undersecretaries, advisors and prominent dignitaries.

Sheikh Dr. Is’haq bin Ahmed Al Busaidi, Chairman of the Supreme Court, Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Judiciary Council led the Eid prayer.

He began the Eid sermon with Takbir (exclaiming God is Great), glorifying and thanking Allah the Almighty for His many blessings.

He spoke about the merits of the first 10 days of Dhul Al Hijjah, which have a prominent place in Islam. This is very clear from the fact that Allah swore with these 10 days in Surat Al Fajr "Dawn and ten nights". Our Prophet (PBUH) also said that there are no days when good deeds are lovable for Allah than these 10 days.

He also spoke about tolerance and moderation in Islam citing many Quranic verses and prophetic traditions.

The Chairman of the Supreme Court, Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Judiciary Council also said: "Our world today is in bad need than anytime else for tolerance and constructive dialogue".

He noted that fanaticism and being close minded are among the key reason for hatred among people and nations and leading for conflicts and war.

He pointed out that Allah ordered us to invite for Islam using wisdom and good preaching.

He also added that diversity of capabilities, understanding and ideas is one of the norms of the universe. Therefore, diversity is a mean for enriching societies subject that peoples address their differences in a way that does not lead to conflict and dispersion.

He noted that modern technologies have been associated with negative phenomenon, such as spreading rumors and false news. Therefore, a good Muslim should verify what he is publishing or receiving through such technologies.

Sheikh Dr. Al Busaidi appealed to Allah for the return of this happy day on His Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said for many years to come and to grant him good health, happiness and a long life.

He also appealed to Allah to safeguard Oman and all Muslim countries and unify the stance for all Muslims towards good.

Sayyid Fahd also received the well-wishers on this occasion. They expressed their sincere best wishes to His Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said, praying to Allah the Almighty to grant His Majesty continuous health, wellbeing and a long life.

Sayyid Fahd thanked all well-wishers, wishing them a blessed and happy Eid.

He prayed to Allah the Almighty for the return of this blessed occasion on His Majesty the Sultan with happiness and grant him permanent success to achieve further growth, prosperity and stability for Oman under this prosperous reign.
