The Surur Tourist Walkway represents a massive success for local community efforts. This beautiful trail sits in the Wilayat of Samail in Al Dakhiliyah. It started as a local initiative and quickly became a major destination. The trail stretches for approximately four kilometers through the scenic village. Visitors walk past lush agricultural orchards, palm groves, and ancient irrigation channels. The Al Dakhiliyah Governorate actively supports this type of sustainable rural tourism. They want to enhance community participation in local economic development.

Significant Economic Impact And Job Creation

The site recently underwent extensive development and vital rehabilitation work. Workers restored several heritage houses and improved the internal walkways. The community also added paved parking areas and essential safety requirements. The total investment in the site reached approximately 190,000 Omani riyals. This funding supports 26 distinct commercial projects along the beautiful route. These include local cafes, traditional restaurants, and stalls for productive families. These projects successfully created 52 new jobs, achieving a 76.9 percent Omanization rate.

Future Expansion And Professional Consultancy

His Excellency Sheikh Mahmoud bin Rashid Al-Saadi praised the community's dedication. He confirmed the governorate pays close attention to these public benefit initiatives. The government will soon launch a tender for professional consultancy studies. This will help rehabilitate and develop the walkway even further. The studies will establish an integrated technical framework for future expansion. The goal is to improve visitor services while preserving the site's heritage identity. This project perfectly links local tourism directly to the rural economy.
