Thirty second-level public prosecutors took their official legal oath today in Oman. The group, known as the “Merit Batch,” appeared before the Supreme Judicial Council. His Excellency Sayyid Mohammed bin Sultan Al Busaidi administered the swearing-in ceremony. Attorney General Nasr bin Khamis Al Sawai also attended the formal proceedings. This event reflects the ongoing development of the judicial system in the Sultanate. The initiative aligns directly with the strategic objectives of Oman Vision 2040. The government aims to build a highly effective and independent legislative framework. Qualifying specialized national cadres remains essential to achieving these long-term governance goals.

Comprehensive Legal Training

Taking the oath officially marks the commencement of their professional judicial duties. The prosecutors will now apply the law and protect public rights and freedoms. The "Merit Batch" completed rigorous scientific and practical qualification requirements beforehand. They finished a postgraduate diploma program at the Higher Institute of the Judiciary. The members also completed extensive practical training across specialized Public Prosecution departments. The law requires candidates to pass training for a minimum of two years. Following the ceremony, His Excellency urged the new prosecutors to maintain absolute integrity. He stressed the importance of continuous professional development and adopting modern technologies.
