Tourism ministry issues operation guidelines for hotel establishments

Muscat: A circular has been issued by the Ministry of Heritage and Tourism regarding the operation of some activities in the hotel establishments with reference to the coordination that took place between the Ministry of Heritage and Tourism and the relevant government authorities regarding precautionary measures to prevent COVID-19. 

 

A statement issued online by the Ministry of Heritage and Tourism said, "The Ministry would like to inform you of the agreement made with competent authorities regarding the mechanism of dealing with the prevention of the spread of COVID-19 in hotel establishments, as follows:

 

1- As for the hotel rooms, hotel rooms have been allowed to operate at a 100% rate, while adhering to the precautionary measures to prevent COVID-19.

 

2- With regard to the banquet and conference halls, only 50% of the capacity of the banquet and conference rooms in hotel facilities has been allowed to operate, while adhering to the precautionary measures to prevent COVID-19.

 

3- Sports and recreational facilities of all kinds in the hotel establishments will be allowed to operate for visitors and inmates while adhering to the precautionary measures to prevent COVID-19.

 

4- In serving food and beverages, an open buffet has been allowed while adhering to the precautionary measures to prevent COVID-19, as well as the use of multi-use utensils and dishes while ensuring that they are sterilized, cleaned well and kept at a high temperature.

 

“Accordingly, the Ministry affirms the need to follow all precautionary measures and the rest of the measures related to the prevention of COVID-19 in hotel establishments, as contained in this circular issued by the Ministry and other relevant authorities, to avoid legal accountability,” the statement added.
