Travel agents not authorised to work on behalf of Indian embassy
Indian nationals in Oman who have been contacted by travel agents claiming to offer repatriation flights on behalf of the Embassy of India are requested to not share their information with them.
No travel agent has been authorised to represent the Indian embassy, which is personally organisng repatriation flights to India.
“It has been brought to our notice that certain travel agencies/organisations are collecting information from Indian nationals wanting to return to India and claiming to have the embassy’s approval to do so,” said the Embassy of India in a statement.
“The embassy has not authorised any travel agency/organisation to gather such information,” it added. “All those interested in traveling to India may register on the embassy’s website. The shortlisted passengers will be contacted by Air India for the booking of tickets.”
Indian nationals who wish to register for repatriation flights need to visit the Embassy of India in Muscat’s website, www.indemb-oman.gov.in. A dropdown box there will guide applicants to a Google Document link where people will need to provide their personal details, contact information and reasons for travelling home.
