Royal Oman Police arrested three Omanis, expat arrested for kidnap, assault and robbery

The Royal Oman Police (ROP) have arrested three Omanis and an Asian national for impersonating police officers and kidnapping, assaulting a person apart from robbing OMR1,000.

The Department of Criminal Investigation led by the North Al Batinah police said that “three citizens and an Asian national were arrested in Sohar on charges of looting, impersonation of police officers and harassment.”

 


According to the Royal Oman Police, "The accused pretended to be policemen and entered the house of a victim. They asked to search his house, then beat him and stole money, mobile phones and two watches. The accused then took the victim in their car to a farm and asked him for OMR1, 000 in exchange for his resident card and his release."

On further investigation, the four suspects were identified and arrested. They later confessed to committing the crimes.
