2.75 Kilometres - Yes, That’s The Distance Virat Kohli Ran While Demolishing South Africa In Cape Town!

Virat Kohli's unbeaten 160 shut South Africa out in the 3rd ODI in Cape Town. Now the knock lasted 159 balls and he slammed 12 fours and 2 sixes.

Which means exactly 100 runs came by running between the wickets. Believe it or not, Kohli covered a distance of 2.75 km while running, which means it's a total of 3010 yards.

The pitch is 22 yards long. Kohli ran 2200 yards for his own runs (75 x 1, 11 x 2, 1 x 3) and 810 yards for his partner's runs (67 x 1, 7 x 2).

However, it is nowhere close to the 6 km footballers run in a match but two things need to be taken into account. Firstly, Kohli's runs were short sprints which require a lot of energy and he was also wearing protective gear.

Clearly it is no mean feat but it's hardly a surprise. Kohli ranks as one of the fittest players in the game today and the benchmark he sets to stay in shape is pretty high.

The man is in form, he is fit and at the helm. Team India could not ask for more.
