Shahid Kapoor Shares His Experience Of Working On Padmaavat, Recalls He Felt Like An Outsider Initially

Whether you are an actor or not, there's always that awkward feeling when you're joining a new workplace, changing your city or taking admissions in a new university. The first day at work makes you feel like the first day at school.

No one to hang out with, eating lunches alone for the first few days and then the same place that gives you cold vibes gradually goes on to become your comfort zone eventually.

Well, that's what happened with me here. And that's what happened with Shahid Kapoor during the shooting for Padmaavat. The movie which is getting phenomenal reviews from around the world has features Shahid Kapoor, playing the Rajput warrior.

And while Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh have worked with the veteran filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali before (Ram-Leela and Bajirao Mastani), it was Shahid's first time with the cast and crew. And just like any of us, he felt like an outsider.

Speaking with a leading daily, Shahid recalls the initial days. "I'm used to being the favourite of all my filmmakers. This was the first time that I was like an outsider. When you work with a team that has worked together, you are kind of an outsider and it takes time for you to break through that barrier."

Well, looking at his charismatic role as Raja Rattan Singh, no one can tell he had a hard time breaking the ice. More power to Sasha.
