Employer Convicted To 10 Years ImprisonmentAfter Raping Filipina Maid

Filipina maid’s employer faces 10 years imprisonment over rape charges.

According to reports, the Filipina 52-year old OFW was raped repeatedly by her 62-year old employer and threatened to beat her if she refuses.

The got away from her employer’s house at Al Ghusais and instantly went to the police station to file a complaint.

Police officers called the Emirati employer for questioning but denied all allegations, stating that the woman only fabricated the rape issue because the employer plans to send her back to the Philippines.

However, the Dubai Court of First Instance sided on the Filipina, convicting the Emirati man of 10 years imprisonment over rape charges. The man also failed to attend any of the hearings or send a plea.

According to the Filipina, the man hired her to work last December 2016.

“He started raping me in March 2017 and he did it several times… he constantly threatened to beat me and I was scared and forced to remain silent because of the fear of being abused and beaten. Every time he wanted sex, he would threaten to beat me,” the woman said.

“I couldn’t resist him because he was stronger and threatened to beat me. Thereafter I ran away from his flat and rushed to the nearest police station and told them what had happened,” the woman added.

The employer allegedly told the prosecutors that he never raped her and she fabricated her statement because she is incompetent and feared to be sent back to the Philippines.

As per the UAE law, a retrial will begin once the defendant surrenders himself.
