Filipina Domestic Worker in Riyadh ’Stabbed’ While Asleep

A Filipina domestic worker based in Riyadh has claimed she was stabbed by an unknown person while she was asleep in her bedroom early this month.

Rosemarie Marcial Santos posted a photo on Facebook of her bloodied hand and said she was stabbed while she was asleep. However, she could not identify the attacker.

The photo, posted on January 4, showed her left hand full of blood and she is apparently in pain.

Santos later expressed regret saying was a mistake to come to Saudi Arabia. She was traumatized by the incident and feared her throat could be cut next time, reports said.

The post went viral with netizens expressing concern and telling Santos to report her case to the Philippine Overseas Labor Office.

However, the post was removed for unknown reasons.

Later, Santos denied a Facebook post which said she was given assistance and returning to the Philippines. She said she is still in Riyadh. Further details on her circumstances are not known.
