Filipina Helper in HK Dead After Found Unconscious in Employer’s Bathroom

A Filipino domestic helper in Hong Kong has been confirmed dead after she was found unconscious inside her employer’s bathroom.

On January 9, employer Josephine Ngan found her helper unconscious inside her Tuen Mun apartment, The SUN reported. The domestic worker was identified as Erlinda Diego Cabulong, 45.

Ngan rushed Cabulong, who had been working in Hong Kong for 15 years, to Tuen Mun Hospital but she was declared dead on arrival 8:15am that day. The cause of Cabulong’s death is not immediately known.

Mercedes Jasmin Diego, Cabulong’s sister, said she could not believe her sister died so suddenly as she was not suffering from any illnesses. Diego said Cabulong’s family had communicated with her the night before she died.

Diego said their family was waiting for the autopsy results before Cabulong’s body can be sent back to the Philippines. Ngan had agreed to send Cabulong’s remains back to Manila but her family has to transport it back to their province in Quirino.
