Diana Hayden won the title in 1997. The former Miss World is currently pregnant and expecting twins through eggs that she froze three years ago. After her tenure as Miss World, she moved to the UK to study acting at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art. She has authored a book called A Beautiful Guide which is a personality development and grooming book.

Yukta Mookhey won the crown in 1999. She won the title on December 4, 1999 at Olympia, London. She became the fourth Indian woman to have won the crown. In 2004, Yukta Mookhey became a member of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).
