Now, residents of 13 more countries can get UAE driving licence on foreign licence
Citizens of 13 countries can now get or replace their driving licence (issued in their home country) with a UAE driving licence.
According to a list posted on the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation's website, the 13 countries are:
- Austria
- Slovakia
- Luxembourg
- China
- Portugal
- Finland
- Romania
- Denmark
- Serbia
- Poland
- Netherlands
- Latvia
- Lithuania
According to the full list on the Ministry's website, residents 30 countries are eligible to convert their driving licences in UAE.
"These are Britain, US, France, Japan, Germany, Italy, Belgium, Netherlands, Switzerland , Denmark, Greece, Spain, Sweden, Ireland, Norway, Turkey, Canada, Poland, South Korea, Finland, South Africa, Australia, Romania, New Zealand, Singapore, Hong Kong, Austria, Slovakia , Luxemburg and Serbia", the ministry added.
Applying for a driving licence in UAE can be a difficult process for many residents, however Dubai has exempted citizens of a few select countries from the driving test.
According to the Dubai Government portal, if you have a valid driving licence from a list of countries provided on the portal, citizens of those countries would be exempted from the driving test in Dubai.
